Welcome to the esteemed P.G. & Research Department of Zoology at St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Devagiri, Calicut. Established in 1957 and elevated to postgraduate status in 1982, our department has been a pioneer in fostering academic excellence and innovation. Since its inception, we have maintained a steadfast commitment to advancing knowledge and producing impactful research.

Our faculty, renowned for their expertise and dedication, have been instrumental in driving groundbreaking discoveries. Over the past decade, they have contributed significantly to the academic community with 150 international research publications and have guided the successful completion of 31 Ph.D. students. In addition to our rigorous academic programs, our elective course in Environmental Biology, Pollution, and Conservation offers students a comprehensive understanding of pressing ecological issues, equipping them with the skills needed to address contemporary environmental challenges. We take pride in our alumni network, which includes 78 CSIR/UGC-NET (JRF) and 32 GATE qualified students, many of whom are currently pursuing Ph.D. programs at prestigious national research centers such as IISc, IGIB, RGCB, CCMB, and NCBS.
